Photos and collection data
Pocket Magnet saves the photos you take or choose, original images, backgrounds, names, dates, places, prices, stories and board layouts on your device. Photo imports use the system picker and read only the images you select; taking photos requires camera access. Background removal and perspective correction run on the device, without sending images to external AI services. You enter places yourself; the app does not access your device’s location.
iCloud Sync
When you use iCloud sync, collection details, photos, backgrounds and layouts are stored through Apple CloudKit in your Apple Account’s private database. An empty new collection can optionally import from iCloud; creating and saving a collection starts ongoing sync. Sync requires an available Apple Account, network access and iCloud storage. We do not receive these collections through our own servers or use them for advertising. You can manage this app’s iCloud access in Settings.
Purchases
Apple’s App Store handles the one-time Collector purchase and purchase restoration. The app uses Apple-verified transactions to determine access and does not receive bank card details or payment passwords. Purchase access is not stored in your collection archive or shared through collection data in iCloud. Apple handles refunds and revocations.
Local settings and tracking
The app stores whether the initial cloud import is complete in local settings, along with local state needed for sync. It contains no ads, third-party analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking, and does not sell your collection content.
Deletion and retention
Removing a magnet from a board only removes that placement; deleting a board keeps its library magnets. To delete a collection item, select it in the library or edit its details, choose Delete and confirm. Once synced, deletions propagate to your other devices. Cloud deletion markers prevent older devices from restoring deleted records. This version does not immediately purge all unreferenced cloud images, and old local backups may retain past content. Uninstalling the app does not clear iCloud. You can view and delete this app’s cloud data in the system’s iCloud storage settings.
Permissions, updates and contact
You can revoke camera access and manage network and iCloud access in Settings. Restricting permissions may affect the corresponding features. This policy will be updated as our data practices change. For privacy, purchase or usage questions, contact [email protected].
