THE POCKET MAGNET GUIDE

How to arrange digital fridge magnet display boards

A digital display board lets you try an arrangement without moving every souvenir on the fridge. Use one board for a recent trip, another for everyday favorites, or a compact view when you want to see many magnets together. Pocket Magnet keeps those layouts separate from the collection itself.

Choose a small theme for the board

Start with a trip, a place or a color palette. A clear theme makes it easier to decide which magnets belong together. You can also use an all-collection board as an overview and smaller boards to tell individual travel stories.

Create a board, choose a built-in background and add items from your magnet library. Adding an existing item reuses its collection record. You can place that same magnet on another board without creating a second copy of its photo or details.

Use free placement for emphasis, grids for browsing

For a small set of souvenirs, leave room around the most detailed pieces and give a favorite magnet a little more space. In arrangement mode, select a magnet to move it, change its size or rotate it. Layer controls help when one magnet overlaps another.

For a larger collection, open automatic layout and compare the preview before applying it. Pocket Magnet includes six layouts, with compact options for many small magnets. A dense layout makes an overview easier to scan, while a looser layout gives individual details more room.

Check the full outline and the available space

A tall souvenir and a wide souvenir do not occupy the same shape of space. Look at the complete image outline in the preview, not just the center of each magnet. If a layout cannot fit the collection at its minimum size, the app shows a capacity message rather than silently leaving items out.

When a board feels too crowded, divide it into smaller themes. Applying a layout changes the positions, sizes and angles on the current board. The collection details and arrangements on other boards stay separate.

Choose a background that lets the magnets stand out

Try a quiet background when the magnets have lots of colors and lettering. A darker background may help pale outlines stand out, while a lighter one can make dark silhouettes easier to see. Review the whole board after changing the background.

The free version includes built-in backgrounds and two boards. The optional Collector purchase adds unlimited boards and magnets, plus your own photos as backgrounds. Custom photos fill the board with a centered crop, so keep important background details away from the edges.

Remove a display item without deleting the memory

Use “remove from board” when an item no longer fits a theme. Its library record remains available for another board. Deleting a board also keeps the magnets in the library; deleting a magnet from its details removes the record from every board.

When you are happy with the arrangement, check the iCloud sync status if you want the board included in your cloud collection. A completed upload is needed before you can rely on restoring that layout after reinstalling.
