How to organize a fridge magnet collection
A fridge full of souvenirs is easy to enjoy and surprisingly hard to search. A small digital catalog helps you remember where each magnet came from, find a gift from a friend and plan a new arrangement without losing the original record.

Start with a photo and a name you will recognize
You do not have to document the whole fridge in one sitting. Start with a few favorites. Photograph each magnet clearly, then give it a short, specific name such as “Paris — Eiffel Tower” instead of “Magnet 12”. A consistent name makes the collection easier to scan later.
In Pocket Magnet, open the magnet library and use its add button to take a photo or import one. Review the cutout before saving. Adding from the library keeps the item there until you choose a display board; adding from a board also places the new item on that board.
Use places and dates consistently
Choose one way to write places, such as “France · Paris”, and reuse it for magnets from the same trip. Pocket Magnet can suggest previously saved places, so you do not need to create slightly different spellings each time.
New imports start with today’s collection date. When cataloging older souvenirs, edit that date to the date you want to remember, or clear it if you do not know. Add a brief story: who gave it to you, what happened that day or why you picked this one. A place and one useful sentence are often enough.
Find things through your library
Use search for a name, place or a phrase from a story. Browse by month or place when you want to revisit a trip, and combine the available filters when the collection gets larger. Keeping place names consistent makes these views more useful.
The library is the record of what you have saved. A board is a presentation of those records. The same magnet can appear on several boards, while its photo and details stay connected to the same library item.
Change displays without losing the catalog
Make a board for a trip, another for favorites and another for a future arrangement. Removing a magnet from a board leaves its library record intact. Deleting a magnet from its details removes it from the library and every board, so use that action only when you want to delete the record.
Enable iCloud sync and check that an upload has completed before relying on a cloud restore. Restoration requires the same Apple Account, available iCloud storage and a network connection. Sync is not guaranteed to run immediately while the app is closed.
